I am starting a business to help bring tools to adolescents to combat the negative voices in their head telling them that suicide is “the answer” to their situation. Let’s start teaching kids and teens about mental wellness and how to choose other resources to elevate their life.
According to the National Vital Statistics (NVSS) report generated in Sept 2020, the national suicide rate among persons aged 10–24 increased 57.4% between 2007 to 2018. Forty-two states had significant increases in their suicide rates between 2007–2009 and 2016–2018. Most states had increases of between 30%–60%.
These stats just make my heart sink. I’m ready and able to start fighting for this cause!
